Component specialist for Embraer E-Jet family changes its management team

Hamburg, Germany – March 14, 2024 – Spairliners, a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, proudly announces the appointment of Abdelouahab El Fettouhi as its new Managing Director and CEO, starting from March 1, 2024. He joins Michael Vollrath, who remains Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, as both jointly head the executive board of the leading component provider in the E-Jets after sales market. Abdel brings a wealth of expertise to Spairliners, having previously held several key positions at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, which enables him to lead Spairliners into the next phase of innovation and operational excellence.
From Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance to Leading Spairliners
With a distinguished career spanning over 15 years at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, Abdel has made significant contributions across various key roles, including Customer Support Director, Middle East Sales Director, Technical Sales Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and Purchasing Manager. His extensive knowledge and experience in the aviation industry play a pivotal role in driving Spairliners' ongoing success.
Abdel holds a master’s degree in engineering from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers and an advanced Master's degree from ESSEC Business School. His academic background, coupled with hands-on experience, provides him with a unique blend of skills beneficial for navigating the complexities of the aviation service industry.

Spairliners has appointed Thies Moeller as new Managing Director and CEO. He succeeds Sven-Uve Hueschler effective November 1st and heads from now on the business alongside Benoit Crombois, Managing Director and CFO of the company.

“After a comprehensive search and careful selection process, we are delighted to have recruited Thies Moeller for Spairliners’ management board. Thies has more than 12 years of experience in leadership positions within Lufthansa Technik AG and knows best the industry, especially the component business”, says Jacques Dauvergne, chairman of Spairliners’ supervisory board and VP Materials & Services Air France Industries.

Thies has been employed by Lufthansa Technik since 2005. His previous experience within the corporate group includes leading positions in Key Account Management, Central Services and Processes as well as Central Controlling and Risk Management. Prior to joining Lufthansa Technik, he served for more than five years as General Manager and Sales Director in the automotive business.

“I am thrilled to be taking on the new role”, says Thies Moeller. “This is an exciting time for Spairliners, as the company expands its Integrated Component Care business for Embraer E-Jet aircraft in the Americas. Moreover, we also introduce a complementary and new product to this market. Spairliners Assets Control Enterprise (SPACE) is based on a probabilistic forecasting model for assets. After becoming market leader in Europe for E-Jet component support, Spairliners brings its expertise and experience now to a next level and to an additional market. Former Managing Director and CEO Sven-Uve Hueschler returned to Lufthansa Technik after four years. Sven-Uve Hueschler headed the company when Spairliners introduced its E-Jet component support in 2013 and during the development phase of its latest product SPACE.
